The much-hyped item song ‘Kissik’ from the highly anticipated sequel Puhspa 2 was out during the promotional event in Chennai and it no match to the chartbuster ‘Oo Antava Mava’ song from the first part.
Composed by Devi Sri Prasad, Kissik song falls short of the high expectations because the wow factor is missing due to the lack of peppy tune and ineffective lyrics. For an item song, catchy lyrics and foot-tapping beats are vital to make it an instant earworm. Both these aspects didn’t meet the desired standard in this song. Also, the vibe associated with Oo Antava Mava is clearly missing with Kissik song upon first hearing.
Sung energetically by Shublashini with mass lyrics penned by Ramajogayya Sastry, the song may reach the target audience only after repeated hearings but it cannot stand a chance to outshine Samantha’s performance in Pushpa 1. Sree Leela has the potential to set the dance floor on fire with her seducing avatar and sizzling moves by matching Allu Arjun’s grace and speed. She is likely to be the saving grace for this song.
Though the song might not emerge as a chartbuster due to heavy expectations, it is likely to gain more attention due to the buzz on the film. The video song can excite audiences if Allu Arjun and Sree Leela dance frantically to the beats amid glittering sets with glitzy costumes.
