Producer Naga Vamsi recently delivered a box office success with the latest release ‘Mad Square,’ which grossed over 65 crores within just four days of its theatrical release. The youthful entertainer quickly achieved breakeven in most centers and continues its blockbuster run in cinemas.
In a recent press meet, Naga Vamsi addressed certain website reviewers, criticizing them for their negative coverage of the film. Despite receiving mixed reviews, especially in comparison to its prequel, Mad Square faced backlash over its ticket pricing. Additionally, some media outlets accused the filmmakers of inflating box office numbers, claiming the reported numbers were exaggerated.
Expressing his frustration, Naga Vamsi responded, “Some reviewers said that there is no content and the film is running solely to its sequel advantage and claiming the second half fell short of expectations. I have watched the second half again in theaters with audiences, and they were thoroughly enjoying it in theaters.”
While he made it clear that he wasn’t opposed to reviews, he expressed, “I’m not against the reviews, but some are tweeting just to validate their reviews, suggesting that the film’s collections are just there without any content. We have to co-exist in this cinema industry. Websites are running because of films, and YouTube channels are running because of interviews and ads we give. So, don’t kill the films. Even now, I’m not commenting on the film’s reviews, but there’s no need to overanalyze why the film is performing well or to impose personal judgments on the audience. Don’t destroy films. Your websites also run only if cinemas run successfully; otherwise, you also have to close your websites and go home.”
Finally, losing his temper, he added, “Ban me and my films. Stop reviewing and writing about my films and don’t take my ads. I know how to promote my film and will promote it.”
