Legendary actor Rajinikanth has completed 50 years in the film industry, a rare milestone in Indian cinema. Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to the superstar through a social media post.
“Rajinikanth’s journey is truly inspiring. The diverse roles he has portrayed have left a significant impact on audiences. I wish him many more successes,” the Prime Minister said, sharing a photograph of a past meeting with the actor.
Rajinikanth expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister, stating that he felt honored to receive congratulations from a leader he deeply respects.
The actor made his debut with Apoorva Raagangal, released on August 15, 1975. Over the last five decades, he has acted in 171 films. His latest release, KooLi, which hit screens on Thursday, reaffirmed his enduring popularity. The film set a record as the highest-grossing Tamil movie worldwide on its opening day, earning over Rs. 151 crore globally. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, KooLi further demonstrates the lasting appeal of the superstar.
