Renowned Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, known for her impactful performances in films such as Veer-Zaara and Soldier, is preparing to return to the silver screen after a hiatus. Currently in India for the Indian Premier League (IPL), where she serves as co-owner of the Punjab Kings team, Preity will soon star alongside Sunny Deol in the upcoming film Lahore 1947.
Apart from her cinematic endeavors, Preity has been quietly dedicating herself to social causes, notably through her adoption and care of 34 girls. Even prior to becoming a mother to twins Jai and Gia via surrogacy in November 2021, Preity had taken responsibility for the education, health, and welfare of these girls, providing them with essential support and guidance.
Speaking about her philanthropic work, Preity highlighted the challenges faced by girls in society, including female foeticide and harsh upbringing environments. She revealed, “I have adopted 34 girls and oversee their education, nutrition, and clothing. Their enthusiasm inspires me deeply. They are my children and my responsibility. I remain in regular contact and meet them twice a year.”
Preity’s efforts reflect a strong commitment to addressing societal issues beyond her film career. As she readies for her return to acting, fans eagerly await her performance in Lahore 1947, which marks a significant milestone in her journey balancing motherhood, social responsibility, and professional commitments.
