Prashanth Neel has his own plans for ‘Salaar’ promotions

KGF director Prashanth Neel adopts a different strategy for promotions. He doesn’t want to aggressively promote his films by touring many metropolitan cities, organising massive public events and interacting with the media extensively. He would rather dedicate ample time to the post-production activities and ensure that the output matches the high expectations. He simply unveils a teaser and a trailer and gives a couple of interviews before the film’s release. He also puts the same conditions on his team as well.

For his upcoming film Salaar, starring Prabhas in the lead role, Neel is adopting a similar strategy. He unveiled the first look teaser of part 1 in the first week of July. After that, there is no update on the film. There is no news on when the theatrical trailer will be out. The business is yet to be closed in many territories. This has led to a lot of confusion among fans and trade circles.

Reportedly, Neel is confident that Salaar has already garnered huge buzz everywhere. He is fully aware of the mixed response the teaser got from all languages. He knows that there is enough potential in the story for the film to make a killing at the box office irrespective of the promotions. So, he wants to keep it simple. Even Prabhas is confident on Neel’s approach. So he doesn’t want to against his director’s wish.

Neel is planning to unveil the trailer in the first week of September. The core team of Salaar will interact with the national media in Mumbai and start the promotions. This will be followed by only one public event and a few interviews.

Salaar Cease Fire is slated for release on September 28th. Hombale Films is behind this project.
