Prakash Raj Under Fire: Producer Claims Major Loss Due To Actor’s Departure From Set

Monday, October 7, 2024

Actor Prakash Raj has sparked anger from Mark Antony producer S. Vinod Kumar. Prakash Raj made a post on X (formerly Twitter) stating, “Just asking,” in his signature style, which has since gone viral.

The event for the launch of five books written by Tamil Nadu MP Tiruchi Shiva took place on Saturday in Chennai, where Chief Minister Stalin and Deputy Chief Minister Udayanidhi Stalin were also present alongside Prakash Raj. Sharing a photo with Udayanidhi on X, he captioned it, “With a Deputy CM… Just asking.”

In response, Vinod Kumar, producer of Mark Antony and Enemy, expressed his frustration: “The three people sitting next to you won their elections. You, on the other hand, lost your deposits. That’s the difference between you and them. You left the vanity van without saying a word during a film shoot, resulting in a loss of one crore that day. What was the reason for that? Just asking? You said you would call and explain everything, but you never called!”

Vinod did not specify which film this incident pertains to, but he provided additional details in a follow-up tweet. He stated that the event occurred on September 30 of this year. “The actors in the film, along with 1,000 junior artists and the technical team, were ready to shoot a scene. For Prakash Raj, it was the fourth day of the schedule. He received a call from another production company and left the shoot, getting out of the caravan. We were left in the dark about what to do next, and the shoot was halted. All the scheduled combinations for that day were ruined,” Vinod Kumar explained.
