After the humongous success of the Baahubali franchise, Prabhas attained pan-India popularity like no other hero. The market for his films expanded quite drastically beyond Telugu States because of his craze among moviegoers in other languages. Though his subsequent films Saaho, Radheshyam, and Adipurush tanked heavily at the box office, his market is unshakeable even till today. But, one aspect that has been eroding his craze is the lack of proper planning regarding his upcoming films.
First things first, Prabhas is taking undue time to complete his projects. The inordinate delay is one of the reasons why the buzz on his films is dwindling with each passing day. His mythological behemoth Adipurush also suffered many setbacks before its release. The film was postponed several times causing a lot of inconvenience to its buyers. Now, his much-anticipated actioner Salaar also got postponed. There is no clarity on when it will release. Also, there is no news on the progress of his other films like Kalki and untitled Maruthi’s project.
Secondly, Prabhas should take proper care of the post-production activities of his films. Adipurush was badly trolled for tacky VFX effects and his poor looks. Critics lashed out at the team for coming up with substandard graphics despite spending a mammoth budget. Now, the buzz is that the VFX work for some key episodes in Salaar didn’t come out as expected. So, the makers are trying to come up with quality output and hence postponed the release date. Even his looks from ‘Kalki 2898AD’ were trolled by netizens when the first look poster was released.
Last but not least, Prabhas being a pan-India star needs a better PR team that is very active and keeps rumours at bay. There is no update on what is really happening with regard to his upcoming films and when they will hit the screens. A good PR team will make sure that his fans and media are kept abreast of the latest happenings about his films.
On the whole, Prabhas shouldn’t simply sign films and shoot for them at a leisurely pace. He should involve much more beyond just shooting and make sure that his popularity doesn’t fade away because of lackluster planning.
Prabhas should take more responsibility
