Prabhas’ futuristic action drama Project K is one of the costliest Indian films to date. Helmed by Naga Ashwin, the film is being made on a whopping budget of 500 Crores with lavish production values involving a star-studded cast and renowned technicians. The makers of Project K announced long back that the film will arrive in theatres worldwide on January 12th, 2024 as a Sankranti gift. However, the latest buzz suggests that the film might be pushed to Summer 2024.
Reportedly, there is still a considerable portion of shooting and extensive post-production work left to be completed. As the film is a period drama that oscillates between different timelines and involves high-end technical values, the makers are planning to push the release date to Summer from Sankranti to give ample time for the production team to bring the best output. Moreover, they felt that a film like Project K needs open ground at the box office to target massive openings and requires a long run to recoup the investment.
So, the Summer season is an ideal release option instead of the highly competitive Sankranti season. An official announcement regarding the postponement is likely to out at a later date. Meanwhile, the filming is progressing at a brisk pace. After wrapping up the shooting formalities, the post-production activities will kick off simultaneously.
Project K stars an ensemble cast in the form of Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani. Vyjayanthi Movies banner is bankrolling the film.
