Prabhas is bigger than Rajamouli and Bollywood

Baahubali star Prabhas is all set to surprise and shock everyone with his box office clout as Adipurush is ready to take a thunderous opening all over the country this Friday. When Prabhas agreed to team up with Om Raut to retell the biggest mythological drama of Indian cinema, there were mixed reactions from all quarters. After the release of the first look teaser, many have written off his choice as a colossal blunder. But, the tremendous hype that has surrounded the film now is simply unprecedented and unexpected.

From trade perspective, Prabhas has demonstrated his box office stamina and crowd-pulling capacity like never before for Adipurush. His naysayers have credited the success of the Baahubali franchise to its director SS Rajamouli. But, the sensational advance sales across the North India belt make Prabhas a bigger force to reckon with in the coming days.

Adipurush is comfortably placed to emerge as one of the top 5 biggest openers of all time. It is going to surpass Bollywood’s highest opening film of the year, Pathaan, quite effortlessly. Also, it is on track to topple various existing records held by the biggest Bollywood blockbusters. What is more surprising is that a Telugu hero can pull off such a phenomenal start with a straight Hindi film is such an overwhelming achievement.

Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 and RRR are the top two biggest openers among Indian films. Adipurush is evenly poised to open bigger than RRR and almost similar to Baahubali 2 in Bollywood. So, Prabhas is bigger than the brand Rajamouli and Bollywood heroes. He has truly emerged as the biggest pan-India hero of the generation.

As per trade estimates, Adipurush will clock close to 35+ crores net in the North circuit. There are strong chances that it might touch the 40 Crore mark if the walk-ins improve after the morning shows. On the whole, Adipurush is likely to gross more than 130 crores worldwide on its opening day. If it manages to garner good reviews, there are huge chances that the first weekend numbers will be mind-boggling.
