Political leaders have reacted strongly to the stone-pelting incident targeting CM YS Jagan during a bus yatra in Vijayawada on Saturday night. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his concern, stating, “I pray for the speedy recovery and good health of AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy,” posted on ‘X’.
Chandrababu Naidu, the leader of the TDP, called for severe punishment for those responsible, condemning the attack and urging the Election Commission to conduct an impartial inquiry into the matter.
Nara Lokesh, TDP’s national general secretary, sarcastically questioned the source of the stone, saying, “Where did you come from? Where else will it come from Tadepalli Palace!” He criticized the attack, urging Jagan to try new tactics.
YS Sharmila, the Congress state chief, condemned the incident, labeling it as sad and unfortunate. She called for condemnation if the attack was deliberate, emphasizing that violence has no place in a democracy.
KTR, the executive president of BRS and former Telangana minister, expressed relief at Jagan’s safety and condemned the attack, asserting that violence has no place in democracy. He called on the Election Commission of India to take strict action against the perpetrators.
