LIVE : Narendra Modi Takes Oath as Prime Minister

Narendra Modi was sworn in as Prime Minister for the third consecutive term, with President Draupadi Murmu administering the oath of office. This makes Modi the second leader in independent India’s history, after Jawaharlal Nehru, to achieve this milestone.

The swearing-in ceremony was a grand affair, attended by various heads of state, as well as notable figures from the film industry, politics, and business. TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan were among the attendees. Other distinguished guests included Bhutan PM Tshering Tobgay, Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina, Maldives President Mohammad Moizju, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar and Shahrukh Khan, Manipur CM Biren Singh, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, superstar Rajinikanth, and Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud.
