In a significant development, MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy has sought anticipatory bail from the Andhra Pradesh High Court in connection with the EVM vandalism case during the state elections. Previously, the Central Election Commission had issued orders for the arrest of Pinnelli and his followers, prompting a large-scale search operation by the police across both Telugu states.
After evading police efforts for two days, Pinnelli decided to seek anticipatory bail to avoid arrest. The Andhra Pradesh High Court agreed to hear his petition, and arguments are currently in progress.
During the court proceedings, Pinnelli’s lawyer contended that the incident was triggered by a video posted by Telugu Desam Party leaders on Twitter. The lawyer argued that the accusations against Pinnelli and his brother were unfounded and appealed to the court to grant them anticipatory bail.
This case has garnered significant attention, with the police intensifying their efforts to apprehend Pinnelli and his brother. The outcome of the anticipatory bail petition is highly anticipated as the legal proceedings continue in the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
