BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha has been arrested in connection with the Delhi liquor scam and was remanded to ED custody by the Rouse Avenue court in Delhi. She faces investigation at the ED office. The BJP faced criticism from BRS cadres following Kavitha’s arrest. Union Minister and BJP Telangana President responded, distancing the party from Kavitha’s arrest, citing her PA and benamis turning approvers in the liquor scam.
He emphasized the ED’s independence and vowed not to spare the corrupt. Stressing Kavitha’s adherence to the court’s verdict, he asserted confidence in defeating Asaduddin Owaisi in Hyderabad. These remarks were made during the BJP’s acceptance of former BRS leader and ex-MLA Aroori Ramesh into the party.
