Nithiin retains Pawan Kalyan’s title

After the title of Pawan Kalyan’s iconic romantic entertainer Kushi was retained by Vijay Devarakonda for his upcoming film, it is now Nithiin’s turn to grab another popular title of the star actor. Reportedly, Nithiin’s new film with Venu Sriram has been titled ‘Thammudu’.

It is a known fact that Vakeel Saab director Venu Sriram was supposed to direct a film with Allu Arjun in the lead role. The project was announced four years ago and it was titled Icon. However, due to unknown reasons, Allu Arjun walked out of the project after a couple of years.

So, Venu Sriram approached Nithiin with the same script after making a few modifications. Nithiin gave the nod to his narration and agreed to play the lead role in it. The project has been launched this Sunday morning in Hyderabad.

Ace producer Dil Raju is going to bankroll the film. Interestingly, they have titled it Thammudu. Pawan Kalyan played a boxer in Thammudu and the film went on to become a blockbuster two decades ago. Retaining the crazy title will draw solid hype for the project.

It remains to be seen if Nithiin will play a boxer in this film or will he be a ‘Thammudu’ ( brother) for the needy people in the story. He will start shooting for this film after wrapping up his upcoming film ‘Extra Ordinary Man’ under the direction of Vakkantham Vamshi. He has also agreed to reunite with Bheeshma director Venky Kudumula for a romantic comedy.

Venu Sriram made his direction debut with Oh My Friend under Dil Raju’s banner. After Vakeel Saab, he is once again working for the same production house. Nithiin’s first superhit ‘Dil’ was distributed by Raju and thereafter he became popular as Dil Raju.
