The upcoming film Akhand 2, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna and directed by Boyapati Srinu, is already generating significant buzz ahead of its release. The film’s digital streaming rights have reportedly been acquired by Netflix for over ₹80 crore, marking a first-of-its-kind deal in Balakrishna’s career. Following the blockbuster success of the original Akhand, audience and trade expectations are extremely high, making the Netflix acquisition a hot topic in Tollywood.
Originally slated for a Dasara release on September 25, the makers decided to postpone the film to avoid clashing with Pawan Kalyan’s OG. Current reports suggest that Akhand 2 could now release in December. The decision aims to maximize box-office potential while maintaining the excitement surrounding the film.
Produced by Ram Achanta and Gopichand Achanta under the 14 Reels Plus banner, the film is presented by Balakrishna’s daughter Tejaswini Nandamuri. It features Pragya Jaiswal and Sanyukta Menon as the female leads, with Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt and Adi Pinisetty in pivotal roles. Music is composed by S.S. Thaman, adding another layer of anticipation for this high-octane action entertainer.
