Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia has addressed years of social media trolling regarding her pregnancy before marriage, stating that there was nothing wrong with her situation and that many others in the industry have faced similar circumstances.
In a recent interview, Neha said, “Yes, I became pregnant before marriage, but I do not consider it a mistake. I was not the only one to face such a situation. Actresses like Alia Bhatt and Neena Gupta have been in similar positions. Still, many netizens have targeted me with criticism.” She recalled that she and actor Angad Bedi had to quickly get married after discovering her pregnancy while in a relationship.
The actress also spoke about the emotional stress she endured at the time. “It was very difficult to tell my family that I was pregnant before marriage. Whether the family is traditional or not, it is a challenging situation. The distress I faced during that period was immense,” she said, noting that they could not even invite close relatives to their wedding due to the circumstances.
Angad Bedi, three years younger than Neha, married her after they fell in love. Six months later, Neha gave birth to their daughter. Now 45, she continues to enjoy her family life while facing criticism with grace.
