In a major setback to choreographer Jani Master, the national award announced to him was canceled following a POSCO case against him. For the year 2022, he won the National Award for Best Choreographer for Thiru (Tiruchitrambalam) starring Tamil star hero Dhanush.
The award function will be held on October 8 in Delhi. Ranga Reddy District Court also granted him conditional interim bail to receive the award from October 6 to 10. Presently he is detained in Chanchalguda Jail. But the National Film Award Committee gave him an unexpected shock in the background of Jani Master preparing to attend the award function.
Few days after announcement of this award to him, he was landed in trouble following a 21-year-old female choreographer who worked as assistant with him, as filed a complaint at Narsingi Police Station on September 21, alleging he had sexually assaulted her in many places since 2020.
She also claimed that he had been atrocious since he was a minor. So, a POCSO case was also registered against him. Serious allegations were made that he was molested many times at home and outdoor shootings. She also claimed that he was forced to convert and marry her. Ever since the case was registered, he was avoiding police and absconding.
But police, who had been searching for him, finally arrested in Goa and brought him to Hyderabad. On September 20, he was produced in the Upparapally court. The court remanded him for 14 days in this case. With this, Jani Master was directly taken to Chanchal Guda Jail.
Later, the court allowed the police to have four days of custody to interrogate him and they conducted the investigation in their own style. The cases cast a shadow over the career of Jani Master, who was popular as a star choreographer at the national level. As of now no chances are seen of getting him regular bail due to serious charges against him.
Now that the national award has also been canceled. Meanwhile, Jani Master has reportedly told the police while in their custody that the victim herself is harassing him to marry. It is learned that they went to Panchayat Director Sukumar and the girl did not listen to him either. What actually happened there is a mystery now.
On the other hand, Jani Master is scheduled to receive the National Award at an event to be held in Delhi on October 8. However, as the award announced to him was canceled, the interim bail is also uncertain.
