“Make a fixed deposit (FD) in the name of your mother as much as you can,” Education Minister Nara Lokesh suggested on the occasion of Mother’s Day. He said that the FD document should be presented as a gift to mothers on this special day. He advised them to provide financial security to themselves.
If your mother is above 60 years of age, he said it is best to deposit the money in the Senior Citizen Savings Scheme (SCSS). He explained that senior citizen schemes offer higher interest and tax concessions compared to regular FDs. Recollecting his mother on this day, Lokesh said that there is no miracle in creation more than a mother.
“There is no happiness greater than her love. That is why anyone should first bow to her with ‘Matrudevobhava…’”, he tweeted on this occasion. “My mother introduced me to this world. She led me and taught me to walk. She stood by me whether I won or lost. I extend my greetings to my mother on the occasion of Mother’s Day”, he added.
“She is the eternal inspiration for every child. I bow to all the mothers who embody patience, sacrifice and love on the occasion of Mother’s Day,” said Minister Lokesh. “What can we repay the debt of a mother with? Except being grateful to the mother who carried the nine months, gave birth to us, raised us and made us useful. I salute all the mothers who sacrificed their lives in the process of making our children adults”, he said.
“Today is Mother’s Day. This is the right occasion to give a special feeling to our mother and also give her a gift that will provide financial security for her life. You have the opportunity to do that,” he said. Meanwhile, Lokesh, along with several state ministers and MLAs, laid a wreath and paid tribute to the body of Indian jawan Murali Naik, who died in the war between India and Pakistan.
Home Minister V Anitha, State Revenue Minister A Satya Prasad, Minister Savita, Hindupur MP Parthasarathy, Kadiri MLA Kandikunta Venkataprasad, Madakasira MLA M.S. Raju, Puttaparthi MLA Palle Sindhura Reddy and others were present. Later, they consoled the parents and family members of the Veerjawan family in Pallikalvi Thanda of Gummaiyagari, Gorantla Mandal.
