Nani’s Dasara has a golden opportunity

Summer season is the second most preferred window in Tollywood for big ticket releases in a calendar year after the Sankranti festival. Every year, Summer usually witnesses the release of a minimum of two or three big-ticket films. Last year, Telugu biggies like RRR, Acharya, Sarkaruvaari Paata, and Radheshyam released during the March-May window. Surprisingly, this Summer is going to be quite underwhelming as not a single big-budget entertainer is slated for release. However, some notable medium-budget films are going to test their luck in the coming weeks.

Among this year’s Summer releases, Nani’s long-awaited rustic entertainer ‘Dasara’ is the most eagerly anticipated film of all. Dasara is carrying very strong reports from industry circles. Nani and his team are very confident about the output. They are going all-out to promote the film aggressively. The enticing posters and impressive teaser have set the tone for the film. The songs that are unveiled so far furthered the hype to the next level.

Dasara has a golden opportunity to set the cash registers ringing during the sultry season after its release on March 30th. Many positives are going in its way. The strong promotional content, Nani’s high confidence and lack of competition from any big-ticket films will definitely result in solid openings for Dasara. There are good chances that Dasara will give the career’s biggest opening for Nani. If the film manages to generate good word of mouth, there is a high probability that it will have a blockbuster run for a minimum of two to three weeks which is sufficient to recoup the entire investment.

Dasara has already created ripples in trade circles with terrific pre-release business in all territories. The non-theatrical rights also fetched a whopping amount for the makers. Despite Nani’s low form in recent times, Dasara is hitting the right notes ahead of its grand release. All it needs to give the Natural Star a strong comeback is unanimous talk on its first day.

Directed by Srikanth Odhela, the film stars Keerthi Suresh as the female lead and Samutrakani in a significant role. Santosh Narayanan rendered the soundtrack. Sudhakar Cherukuri produced the film.
