Nampally Special Magistrate Court, that started hearing on Thursday has issued summons to minister Konda Surekha in the suit filed by former minister and BRS executive president K T Rama Rao.
It may be recalled that Minister Surekha’s comments that former minister KTR was the reason for Akkineni Naga Chaitanya and Samantha’s separation created uproar. Soon after, KTR approached the court seeking criminal action against her stating that the comments made against him have damaged his reputation.
Advocate Umamaheswar Rao has filed the petition in this regard on behalf of KTR. BRS leaders Balka Suman, Satyavati Rathore, Tula Uma and Dasoju Shravan were said to be witnesses.
It is known that Hero Akkineni Nagarjuna has already filed a petition to take criminal action against Minister Konda Surekha fir same comments. The hearing on the criminal defamation petition filed by Nagarjuna against the minister also came up on Thursday, but it was adjourned to October 23.
After the process of recording witness statements is completed, the next court will conduct the hearing. The court recorded the statement of petitioner Nagarjuna and witness Supriyalu on 8th of this month. If their statements are completed, there is a possibility of issuing notices to Minister Konda Surekha.
On October 8, the court heard Nagarjuna’s petition. The court recorded the statement of the petitioner as per procedure. Nagarjuna recorded statement after statement of witnesses.
Along with Nagarjuna, his wife Amala, son Naga Chaitanya, Supriya, Atla Venkateshwarlu, Sushant’s mother and Nagarjuna’s sister Naga Susheela were present in the court. Nagarjuna expressed anger at the minister in his statement.
“Our family has a good reputation in the film industry. Our family is loved all over the country. Received many awards at national level. Along with the film industry, we are doing social service programs. The minister said rudely that ex-minister KTR was the reason for our son’s divorce. By talking like that, our reputation has been damaged”, he added.
