Vijay Deverakonda’s latest film Kingdom, directed by Gautam Tinnanuri, continues to receive strong audience support. Speaking in an interview along with producer Naga Vamsi, the duo shared insights into the movie’s success and audience response. Naga Vamsi stated that regardless of a film’s budget, he always experiences pre-release tension, adding that predicting box office success has become increasingly difficult in recent times.
Explaining the film’s performance, Naga Vamsi said, “Even movies with hit songs are struggling for openings lately. A film is considered a hit if buyers break even with GST, a super hit if they make profits, and a blockbuster if they receive commissions. Kingdom is performing as a super hit in several regions, with Malayalam markets exceeding our expectations. We expect clearer numbers in the coming week.”
Naga Vamsi also revealed that actress Rashmika, a devoted fan of Vijay Deverakonda, secretly watched Kingdom in a Hyderabad theater disguised as a regular viewer to avoid crowds. Sharing his own perspective, Vijay said, “After many years, I saw genuine happiness in my fans’ eyes while watching this film. I was also content with Khushi. Regarding Family Star, I liked its concept from the start. Many fans wanted another movie like Geetha Govindam, so we made Family Star. While the film received decent feedback, some suggested changes in the second half could have improved it further.”
