Akkineni Naga Chaitanya’s next film is a realistic story based on a true incident in which fishermen hailing from Srikakulam were incarcerated by the Pakistan coast guard on the charge of transgressing the border off Gujarat coast. To get into the skin of the character, Chaitu and his director Chandoo Mondeti embarked on an extensive recce in which they started interacting with fishermen to know more about their lifestyle and culture.
After scoring back-to-back debacles, Chaitu is very determined to make this film a turning point in his career. He has adopted a ‘no-holds-barred’ approach to make sure that he portrays the character with conviction and perfection. He is minutely making note of everything in his research so that he delivers every emotion with precision. He wants to prove his mettle as an actor and feels that this particular character has got the weight to bring the best out of his acting repertoire.
This is the most challenging role in his career so far. Hence, he wants to give his best and make a strong impact. He asked the director to come up with a raw character that presents him in a never-before-seen avatar. In terms of his mannerisms and appearance, this role is going to be a complete departure from what he has essayed so far.
The film is tentatively titled Thandel. Geetha Arts banner is bankrolling the film on a grand scale with top-notch production values. AR Rahman will compose the tunes and Keerthi Suresh is expected to play the female lead.
