Akkineni Naga Chaitanya heaved a sign of relief after his maiden web series Dhootha emerged as a blockbuster because of roaring viewership courtesy of top trending on Prime Video for two continuous weeks.
Naga Chaitanya suffered back-to-back debacles with Thank You, Lal Singh Chaddha and Custody. He was very disappointed with the poor box-office reception of these films despite his faithful efforts. Towards the end of the year, he got an interim relief in the form of Dootha which can be treated as a big success for him.
Dootha, which is a gripping investigative thriller, has Chaitu playing a spirited journalist with grey shades. Critically acclaimed director Vikram K Kumar helmed this web series which released on December 1st. The suspense thriller laced with an engaging drama struck a chord with the OTT viewers and secured rave reviews.
Even after two weeks, Dootha is still trending top because of the strong viewership which is a testimony to its success.
The success of Dootha will give Chaitu a world of confidence as he gets ready to embark on an adventurous odyssey with his next film Thandel. He will play a fisherman in this rustic entertainer set in the backdrop of coastal Andhra.
