Mega Prince Varun Tej has bagged another box office turkey. This time he scored the biggest disaster in his career. His latest release Gandeevadhari Arjuna failed on all counts and registered embarrassing collections in the first weekend.
As per trade reports, Gandeevadhari Arjuna directed by Praveen Sattaru is unlikely to recover publicity costs due to its poor run in the first three days. The film collected less than two Crore share by the end of the third day and it means that the theatrical run will end in the next couple of days in most of the centers. Trade circles are utterly shocked at the dismal run of this film which is made on a solid budget.
This is the third consecutive flop for Varun in two years. His sports drama Ghani tanked heavily at the box office last year. Anil Ravipudi’s crazy sequel F3 also didn’t yield commercial success. Now, Gandeevadhari Arjuna couldn’t attract moviegoers due to lack of a coherent story and strong narration.
After scoring big hits with Fidaa, Tholi Prema, Gaddalakonda Ganesh and F2, Varun bagged consecutive flops with F3, Ghani and Gandeevadhari Arjuna.
He will need to rethink his script selection strategies and choice of directors. Up next, he will be seen in an Air Force drama titled Operation Valentine. The film is slated for release in December.
