It is known that the epic historical adventure drama Ponniyin Selvan- I under the legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s direction has been one of the noted blockbusters of the year. To make it even more special, the makers of the film have now announced a sequel titled Ponniyin Selvan- 2.

The much-awaited drama will be gracing for a grand theatrical release on April 28 of next year. Ever since the announcement was made, fans and netizens are showering with likes and comments as well as hashtags saying CholasAre Back is also going viral on social media.
Speaking about Ponniyin Selvan – I, the story revolves around the early life of Chola Prince Arulmozhi Varman who would later become the emperor Rajaraja- I.
The film is based on a historical fiction novel written by the popular Tamil author Kalki Krishnamurthy. Directed by Mani Ratnam and produced by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies, PS- I starred star actors like Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha Krishnan, Karthi, Jayaram, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar and many others in vital roles.
