There are indications that Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy (RK) might rejoin the YSRCP. Vijaysai Reddy, a prominent leader of the YSRCP and a member of the Rajya Sabha, held lengthy discussions with RK last night. It’s been reported that RK, along with his brother MP Ayodhya Rami Reddy, will meet with CM Jagan today. This move by the YSRCP seems to be aimed at thwarting Nara Lokesh’s prospects in Mangalagiri.
RK emerged victorious from Mangalagiri in both the 2014 and 2019 elections, notably defeating Nara Lokesh in 2019. However, his exclusion from the second cabinet expansion left him discontented. Subsequently, RK expressed his dissatisfaction, particularly with the appointment of Ganji Chiranjeevi as the constituency’s in-charge. This dissatisfaction led to his resignation from the MLA post and his membership in the YSRCP. He later joined the Congress party under the leadership of YS Sharmila.
