In Hyderabad, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka unveiled the vote-on-account budget for the fiscal year 2024-2025 in the Legislative Assembly, marking the Congress party’s first budget since assuming power. The budget, totaling Rs 2,75,891 crore, allocates Rs 2,01,178 crore for revenue expenditure and Rs 29,669 crore for capital expenditure.
Notably, Rs 1,000 crore has been earmarked for the beautification and development of the Musi river. Vikramarka emphasized the government’s focus on the riverfront development, envisioning a transformation akin to London’s Thames River. Plans include establishing pedestrian zones, children’s theme parks, and entertainment zones, ensuring ecological sustainability in the Musi river’s revitalization efforts.
