Malayalam filmmaker Joseph Manu passed away before the release of his debut film Nancy Rani

Malayalam filmmaker Joseph Manu passed away on Saturday. The young filmmaker was just 31. As per the sources, Joseph who was admitted to a private hospital in Ernakulam breathed his last on Saturday while undergoing treatment for hepatitis.

Reportedly, the young filmmaker’s funeral was held at the Major Archiepiscopal Martin Mariam Archdeacon Church, Ernakulam on Sunday afternoon.

Upon hearing the saddening news, celebrities from the Malayalam film industry paid tribute to Joseph and offered their condolences to his family members. Social media sites like Twitter and Instagram have pored with comments and condolences.

The sad part of all this is the talented filmmaker was just days away from making his directorial debut with his upcoming film Nancy Rani. The sudden demise of Joseph caused a shock among the Malayalam audiences and as well as netizens as the filmmaker is about to mark his name in the film industry.

Speaking more about Nancy Rani, the upcoming film is based on a young girl named Nancy who fights against all odds in order to pursue her passion of becoming an actress.

Directed by Joseph Manu James marking his directorial debut, Nancy Rani stars Ahaana Krishna and Arjun Ashokan in the lead roles. Apart from the lead cast, the film also roped in Lal, Mamookoya, Vetri, Aju Varghese, Sreenivasan and others in the supporting roles.
