The much-hyped ‘SSMB29’, which marks the first time collaboration of Superstar Mahesh Babu and hitmaker SS Rajamouli, is likely to be delayed because the script work is not yet finished by ace writer Vijayendra Prasad. It was supposed to be launched this year and the regular shooting was planned to commence early next year. But, the delay in the completion of the script is likely to defer the start of this much-awaited film that will be made on a staggering budget with international standards.
During a media interaction a few months ago, Vijayendra Prasad revealed that he was working on the script and also asserted that it would be completed by August end. However, the latest we hear is that Rajamouli and his father are yet to lock in the final draft and the screenplay might take another few months. Fans of Mahesh Babu expected that the project will be formally launched on his birthday this year. But, there has been no official update so far.
Mahesh is currently busy with his upcoming film Guntur Kaaram which is getting ready for release in January. He will complete the shooting formalities by December and will take a short break. He will start to bulk up his physique from January and will get into a new look in the next six months.
So, it is unlikely that the project will start rolling before the Summer of next year. It may be delayed further given the massive span and extensive pre-production that will be required for a pan-global film.
As reported earlier, SSMB29 will be an action-adventure set in the backdrop of Africa. Rajamouli is planning to rope in Hollywood artists and technicians for this project.
