The recent derogatory remarks regarding Naga Chaitanya and Samantha’s divorce, with alleged links to BRS leader KT Rama Rao, sparked a major controversy. Earlier, Nagarjuna and his family, including Naga Chaitanya, Amala, and Akhil, strongly refuted these claims, calling them baseless and urging her to withdraw comments and apologize. Samantha also took a stand for her and issued a statement that their divorce was a mutual consent and amicable with no political conspiracy involved.
In response, the entire Telugu film industry came forward and united in support of Nagarjuna’s family and Samantha. Many top celebrities from Tollywood, directors, writers, and technicians slammed the Telangana minister for her insensitive comments, and all are expressing their support and views with the hashtag, “FilmIndustryWillNotTolerate.”Recently, Superstar Mahesh Babu also responded and strongly condemned the baseless comments made by the minister and said it was unacceptable. The actor took to his social media platform X, and shared a note, “Extremely pained by the comments made by Minister Konda Surekha garu on fellow members of our film fraternity. As a father of a daughter, as a husband to a wife, and as a son to a mother… I am deeply anguished by the unacceptable remarks and language used by a woman minister on another woman.”
He continued, “Freedom of speech can be exercised as long as it does not hurt others’ sentiments. I strongly condemn the cheap and baseless comments made and request people in public domain to refrain from making the film fraternity a soft target. The women of our country and our film fraternity should be treated with utmost respect and dignity.”
