Former minister Perni Nani has strongly responded to criticism and media reports alleging that former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy illegally arranged security for 986 individuals, exceeding protocols for the President and Prime Minister, constructing YSRCP party offices statewide, merging YSRCP with Congress, and holding discussions with DK Shivakumar. Perni Nani defended Jagan against each accusation.
He accused certain media outlets in Andhra Pradesh of spreading false information and questioned their credibility. Nani clarified that during Jagan’s tenure as Chief Minister, his security detail comprised 33 Armed Forces personnel, 89 AP Special Force members, 13 OCTOPUS commandos, 23 other policemen, and an additional 21 personnel during convoy movements, totaling 196 security personnel. He emphasized that there is no security setup for Jagan in Bengaluru.
Addressing claims about a police shelter outside Jagan’s Hyderabad residence, Nani dismissed them as misinformation. He highlighted the standard practice of police barracks being set up at Chief Ministers’ residences and questioned the relevance of these actions to Jagan. Nani criticized Ramoji Rao’s son for allegedly disregarding these facts and publishing misleading news.
