Tirupati: V. Varaprasad Rao, a former IAS officer and Gudur legislator from the YSRC party, officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday. His induction was conducted in the presence of Union Minister Anurag Thakur and BJP general secretary Vinod Tawde.
Varaprasad Rao, a former MP from Tirupati, cited profound dissatisfaction with the YSRC’s decision to nominate Meruga Murali as its candidate for the Gudur Assembly segment. Consequently, he resigned from the YSRC and opted to join the BJP.
