In a recent political rally, YS Sharmila, sister of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, voiced criticism against her brother’s leadership. She questioned the focus on extravagant construction projects while suggesting a lack of attention to the real problems faced by the people. Sharmila highlighted the progress of the Handri-Neeva project during their late father YSR’s tenure, contrasting it with Jagan’s previous promises and subsequent inaction upon assuming power.
Addressing a gathering in Madakasira constituency, Sharmila lamented the failure to attract industries despite land acquisitions in the region. She pointed out unfulfilled infrastructure pledges such as the construction of a ring road, accusing both the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) of neglecting the constituency over the past decade. Additionally, Sharmila underscored the significance of special status for the state, criticizing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for reneging on promises related to it. She also took aim at both TDP and YSRCP for forming alliances with BJP despite its perceived betrayal on the issue.
