APCC chief YS Sharmila Reddy expressed indignation at the Jagan Government’s disregard for the welfare of the elderly through its pension policies in the state. Addressing the media on Friday, she lamented the recurring incidents of elderly individuals facing hardships, remarking, “Every month, we witness the tragic loss of lives among the elderly on the streets.” Sharmila advised the Chief Secretary against mistreating the elderly, criticizing the YSRCP’s flagship Navaratnas program for raising new concerns.
She highlighted the challenges confronting government employees, recalling former CM YSR’s supportive approach towards them and contrasting it with Jagan’s alleged neglect. Sharmila questioned the public threats directed at her by figures like Botsa and condemned the suppression of employees’ voices, particularly in their fight for One Person One Salary (OPS). She accused the government of subjecting employees to various forms of harassment, including HR reductions, and denounced Jagan’s failure to implement the 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC) as yet another instance of betrayal.
