Eluru: YS Sharmila, the president of the Andhra Pradesh Congress, addressed a press conference in Eluru, emphasizing that the Congress party must assume power for the promised initiatives in the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh to materialize. Sharmila asserted, “Andhra Pradesh will secure special status only under the leadership of the Congress party. When Rahul Gandhi assumes the role of Prime Minister, his first official act will be to sign the document granting special status to AP. Therefore, it is imperative for the Congress party to assume power if we wish to achieve special category status, complete the Polavaram project, determine the capital, and prevent the privatization of the Visakhapatnam steel plant.
