New Delhi: In a major security breach on Wednesday, two individuals created chaos in the Lok Sabha chamber, jumping from the visitors’ gallery during Zero Hour proceedings. The incident occurred just hours after the nation paid tribute to the 2001 Parliament House terror attack victims. The intruders, identified as Sagar Sharma (25) from Lucknow and Manoranjan D (35) from Mysore, raised slogans and released yellow smoke from canisters, causing panic among lawmakers and officials.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was not present in Lok Sabha at the time, and fortunately, no Members of Parliament were injured. The House was immediately adjourned until 2 pm and later for the entire day. Parliament security swiftly apprehended the intruders, who were identified and taken into custody—Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D. MPs intervened, subduing one of the trespassers. The incident has raised questions about the effectiveness of parliamentary security protocols and the need for heightened vigilance.
