The Telangana Assembly witnessed heated debates on Saturday, marked by a frontal attack led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy from the Treasury benches against the main Opposition party, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). In a spirited defense, BRS legislators KT Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao actively countered the arguments, exposing weaknesses in the Treasury’s position.

Despite the intense nature of the discussions, both sides maintained a level of verbal decency. Tensions escalated when BRS members, including KP Vivekananda, Padi Kaushik Reddy, K Sanjay, Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, A Gandhi, and M. Gopinath, moved into the well on two occasions. Some even squatted down in protest against CM Revanth Reddy’s continuous tirade. However, Speaker G Prasad Kumar intervened on both occasions, urging the agitated members to return to their seats and assuring them opportunities to speak.

At another point, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy appealed to the Chair to allow opposition members to speak, emphasizing the government’s readiness to listen to them. Following the Speaker’s advice, the protesting members withdrew from the well and resumed their seats. The confrontations underscored the oratorical skills of the leaders, with both sides appearing well-prepared for the verbal sparring, showcasing the intense nature of the political discourse in the assembly.
