Hyderabad: The third session of the Telangana Assembly kicked off with the swearing-in of new legislators, led by AIMIM member Akbaruddin Owaisi as Pro-tem Speaker, overseeing the allocation of portfolios by Chief Minister Reventh Reddy.
The ceremony commenced with oaths taken by CM Revanth Reddy and Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, followed by other ministers and MLAs. Notably, BRS member KTR was absent due to his father’s surgery, seeking an alternative date for his oath. In contrast, Telangana BJP President Kishan Reddy criticized the appointment of Akbaruddin as Pro-tem Speaker, leading BJP MLAs to boycott the session in protest.
