TDP MP Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar disclosed that after a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu agreed to TDP rejoining the NDA ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. Jana Sena, led by Pawan Kalyan, is already part of the alliance and will contest the 2024 elections in Andhra Pradesh in coalition with TDP. Speculations arose about TDP’s return to the NDA six years after severing ties.
Formerly allied until 2018, TDP expressed interest in reuniting with the BJP-led alliance after facing a significant defeat in 2019. The upcoming Lok Sabha elections in April-May, with 25 Lok Sabha seats and 175 Assembly seats at stake, are crucial for the ruling party, aiming for a third term under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, targeting to win 370 seats independently and 400 with allies.
