Nimmakuru: Chandrababu Naidu, the national president of TDP, unveiled the ‘Poor to Rich’ poverty alleviation project with the primary objective of generating wealth for the impoverished and ensuring they reap its benefits. Launched as part of the party’s mini manifesto, this innovative concept aims to eradicate poverty, and he initiated its experimental phase in Nimmakuru. During his visit to Nimmakuru, the native village of late NTR, Chandrababu and his family paid respects to NTR and Basavatakaram by offering floral tributes to their statues.
Addressing the gathering, he elaborated on the goals of the ‘Poor to Rich’ initiative, emphasizing its focus on wealth creation and support for the economically disadvantaged. Nimmakuru and Naravaripalle have been chosen as pilot projects for the scheme. He urged individuals who have risen from the village to become industrialists to take responsibility for uplifting families in Nimmakuru, where despite having 1,800 acres of land, only 80 people are engaged in agriculture.
Advocating a collaborative approach, Chandrababu stressed the need for joint efforts from the public, private, and community sectors to undertake development works. He urged each family to create a vision and a plan for doubling their income, considering the per capita income of the village as a measure of the program’s success. Expressing confidence in the project, he anticipates it will bring about positive transformations in the lives of the rural populace.
