Union Minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar criticized the YSRCP government for misappropriating funds and depleting the state treasury. He announced that a review of stalled development projects within Guntur Municipal Corporation limits had been conducted, revealing that funds earmarked for drinking water supply, underground drainage, and other essential works had been diverted by the previous administration. As a result, these critical infrastructure projects have been halted due to a lack of funds.

Minister Chandrasekhar assured residents that steps are being taken to resume the drinking water supply and underground drainage projects in Guntur city as soon as possible. He emphasized that alternative funding methods are being explored to address the financial shortfall. Chandrasekhar committed to holding regular reviews of the development works, stating that these reviews would occur every two weeks to ensure timely completion of the projects with the help of the authorities.
