Kakinada: Nara Lokesh, the national general secretary of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), has recommenced the Yuvagalam padayatra after a brief hiatus prompted by Cyclone Michaung. The padayatra resumed on its 217th day, starting from the Seelamvaripakalu junction in Kakinada district and progressing into the Tuni assembly constituency. During this phase, Lokesh engaged with fishermen at Perumallapuram, addressing their concerns and challenges. He emphasized the need for addressing the issues faced by the fishing community and pledged support from the TDP-Jana Sena government once in power.
Lokesh expressed doubts about Chief Minister Jagan’s ability to address agricultural challenges and asserted that the TDP-Jana Sena alliance would provide comprehensive support to the fishermen. He outlined specific measures, including compensation to the family within 30 days in the unfortunate event of a fisherman’s death, reduction in electricity charges, and support for economically disadvantaged families.
