Hyderabad: Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar inaugurated 80 new buses, featuring Express, Rajdhani AC, and Lahari sleeper cum seater buses. He highlighted the Chief Minister’s visionary decision to provide free bus travel for women, positively impacting 6 crore women under the Mahalakshmi scheme. Minister Ponnam Prabhakar underscored the government’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of the RTC organization and its workers, ensuring that all pending dues would be disbursed in installments.
Additionally, he assured the audience that the government had achieved full occupancy and pledged to further improve passenger services. In his address, Ponnam Prabhakar announced comprehensive measures to enhance the safety of women at RTC bus stands, with a strong emphasis on upholding law and order in these public spaces.
Furthermore, he unveiled ambitious plans to eliminate RTC’s financial losses, including the introduction of 1000 electric buses as part of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s forward-looking initiatives.
