The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, decided on Monday to rename the Health University in Vijayawada back to NTR Health University. Minister for Information and Public Relations and Housing, Kolusu Parthasarathy, explained during a press briefing that Dr. NTR Health University was established in 1986, consolidating all medical departments under one name. This name was approved by former Chief Minister YSR Rajashekhar Reddy in 2006. However, it was renamed Dr. YSR Health University under YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s administration. The decision to revert to the original name follows numerous complaints from alumni about discrepancies in their marksheets, with some bearing the name Dr. NTR Health University and others Dr. YSR Health University.
