Amaravati: Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath rebuffed opposition claims, asserting that false information is being disseminated about Andhra Pradesh’s financial status. He questioned the basis on which opposition parties are commenting on the state’s financial situation, categorically dismissing the accuracy of debt-related reports in the yellow media.

Addressing the media at the secretariat on Thursday, Minister Buggana highlighted that during the TDP government’s five-year tenure, the state’s debt increased by 22 percent, amounting to Rs 2,71,797 crore. In contrast, the YSRCP government, over its four-and-a-half-year tenure, incurred only 12 percent of the debts. Buggana accused the opposition and yellow media of spreading misleading information regarding the financial condition of Andhra Pradesh.

He specifically addressed Chandrababu Naidu’s claims of borrowing Rs 13 lakh crore, challenging the basis for such statements. Minister Buggana emphasized the revenue disparities between Chandrababu’s administration and the YSRCP government. During Chandrababu’s tenure, the state’s revenue stood at six percent, whereas the YSRCP government achieved a revenue of 16.7 percent.
