The leader of BRS and former Chief Minister KCR responded to criticisms from Congress leaders regarding the significant debts accrued during the 10-year tenure of the BRS government. He argued that governments borrow funds to meet the aspirations of the populace. During an appearance on the ‘Live Show with KCR’ program on TV9, he stated, “Congress leaders persistently condemn us for escalating debts, yet even the wealthiest nation, the United States, holds substantial debts.” He highlighted the disparity between government and private budgets and accused the Congress of baseless allegations regarding Telangana’s economic state.

KCR denounced the false propaganda surrounding debts and criticized the Congress for dismissing audit figures as “crows.” He emphasized that borrowing is an integral part of budgeting, noting that Telangana ranks 24th in debt levels despite being the state with the highest capital expenditure. He chuckled at the Assembly debate on debts and referenced Modi’s imposition of debt limits upon assuming power. He asserted that all segments of society suffer under Congress rule, citing the failure of Congress election rallies and affirming his historical significance in Telangana.
