Amaravati: Nadendla Manohar, the chairman of Jana Sena’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC), has raised allegations against the state government, claiming irregularities in the management of social security pensions. In the span of a month, pensions for 19,000 individuals have reportedly been reduced, leading to the suspicion of embezzlement amounting to thousands of crores. Manohar expressed these concerns during a press conference convened at the Jana Sena party’s central office in Mangalagiri.
According to Nadendla Manohar, the government initially reported providing pensions to 54,69,161 beneficiaries at the rate of Rs 2,750 in November 2023. However, by December, the number of pension recipients had decreased by 19,871. This reduction allegedly resulted in the misappropriation of Rs 291 crore within a month. He further claimed that a cabinet meeting addressed the pension issue, and after the meeting, a press release stated that pensions for November had been sanctioned for 65.33 lakh people.
