Resignations within the ruling party YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh persist, with several MPs and MLAs stepping down thus far. Notably, a minister is bidding farewell to the YSRCP for the first time. Today, Minister Gummanur Jayaram announced his resignation from the YSRCP, along with relinquishing his party membership and ministerial position. Additionally, he clarified his resignation as an MLA. He expressed his intention to join the TDP at the ‘Jayaho BC’ gathering scheduled in Mangalagiri later today. Jayaram explicitly cited his dissatisfaction with the policies under Chief Minister Jagan’s leadership.

He likened Jagan’s influence in Tadepalli to that of a deity in a temple, suggesting a rigid adherence to his directives. Notably, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and Dhananjaya Reddy’s opinions are perceived as gospel by Jagan. Jayaram revealed that Jagan had urged him to contest as the Kurnool MP in the upcoming elections, a proposition he declined. Instead, he declared his intent to run as a TDP candidate from Guntakal in the forthcoming elections.
