Former minister and TDP leader Devineni Umamaheswara Rao criticized the Visakhapatnam police for their brutal attack on the media, accusing them of targeting journalists for amplifying the victims’ voices. He stated that those who have filed false cases will face consequences and highlighted that the entire country is observing the behavior of the Kancharlapalem police.
Devineni alleged a conspiracy led by the Chief Secretary under the influence of the Tadepalli Palace, claiming that false cases against the media were filed on the instructions of Sajjala and Jagan. He called on the Election Commission to intervene and curb the Chief Secretary’s actions, demanding that the charges against the media be dropped immediately.
He further emphasized the need for transparency in the SIT probe into post-poll violence, expressing willingness to release his call data related to the incidents and challenging YSRCP leaders to do the same. Devineni stated that lower-level employees are being victimized due to the mistakes of higher officials.
