In a significant move ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress party unveiled its manifesto on Tuesday, outlining its vision for the country’s future. The manifesto, shaped by the Congress Working Committee (CWC), focuses on ensuring justice for all citizens through five key “Nyay pillars.” These pillars aim to address the concerns of various segments of society, including the youth, women, workers, farmers, and marginalized sections. Additionally, the manifesto promises to implement the old pension scheme (OPS) across the country and enact legislation to safeguard the independence of constitutional institutions, preventing any misuse of agencies.
During the announcement, Congress leader K C Venugopal emphasized the transformative potential of their guarantees, stating that they would resonate with voters across the nation. He criticized the BJP’s promises as mere rhetoric and falsehoods, suggesting that they would meet the same fate as the ‘India Shining’ slogan of 2004.
